Carolyn Land has served as a Palo Pinto Emergency Service District #1 Commissioner since 2014. She became interested in County Emergency Services after the 2011 Possum Kingdom (PK) Complex Fires. The Land’s volunteered during the fires in the PK community. They worked serving meals and organizing donations to all the Volunteers that came to the County to help with the needs of the Community. Carolyn served on a Committee that collected donations and distributed donations to the various Fire Departments that came to the aid of Palo Pinto County. She graduated from Tarleton State University with a Bachelor’s Degree and later with a Master’s in Education Administration. After 31 years in education, serving as coach, teacher and administrator, Carolyn retired to Possum Kingdom Lake. The Land’s have been property owners in Palo Pinto County since 1975.
